I ordered a Panther and a StuG IV model from eBay recently.
There are 1:71 scale 4D puzzle models that just clip together.
Unfortunately I received two StuG's instead of the Panther, so the Panther is still coming.
I like that they have some paint on them already, but it doesn't really match any of the camouflage patterns you see and they need some decals.
So not quite table-ready, but better than bare plastic, and very quick to assemble!

Irregular WW2 Posh Pack
As a final item for the current push on World War 2 codes, I have below images of the contents of the Irregular Miniatures Posh Pack PP7 - WW2 Germans in mainly off duty poses.
A few quite useful figures here...
I particularly like the "gestapo-esque" figure on the end of the centre row. He will definitely have a role as a villian in future. I accidentally snapped the motorcyclist in the bottom row off his base, hence the block to hold him in place for the photo. He'd gotten bent right over in transit.

H&R BR3 - British Paratroops
The BR3 - British Paratroops is another mixed infantry and weapons code similar to the German Paratroops code from Heroics & Ros.
This time we have:
MG Strip (1 per code)
On the right we have 3 Bren teams. I'm not sure what the left-most team with the longer gun is? I'm open to suggestions...
Anti-Tank Gun and Crew (1 per code)
Mortar team, with radio operator (2 strips per code)
Parachute Infantry (4 strips per code)
A mix of Rifles and Sten SMGs
This time we have:
- 4 Infantry Strips,
- 2 Mortar Strips,

H&R BR4 - 8th Army
The Heroics & Ros BR4 - 8th Army in Desert Dress is yet another "combo pack" containing a mix of standard infantry coupled with some supporting weapons. And as you would expect of an 8th Army pack, everyone is wearing a rather fetching pair of shorts...
This time we have:

Sherman and AT guns
In addition to the few bits of German armour, I also needed another platoon of Shermans and some anti-tank guns to bolster my US forces. I picked up the following from Heroics and Ros. Click the images for larger versions.
US04 - M4 Sherman
US47 - 37mm AT Gun + Crew
US22 - 57mm AT Gun + Crew

German Self-propelled Artillery + Armour
I picked up a couple of items to be able to have all the models I need to be able to game all the scenarios in the TFL "Anzio : Wildcat to Whale" book.
G059 - Wespe
This is a two-part model with the gun separate from the chassis.
G060 - Hummel
This is a two-part model with the gun separate from the chassis.
G011 - Panzer III N
Turret separate from the tank chassis.

H&R Japanese Infantry
I picked up a pack of Japanese Infantry on the recommendation that they might be useful for VC/NVA.
I'm not sure of their usefulness on that front, but if they don't work out for that, I'll be keeping them for some future WW2 Pacific games.
Overview of the code below. Click on the pictures for a larger version.
Infantry Strip type 1 - Four of these strips per code
Infantry Strip type 2 - Three of these Strips per code
LMG Strip - Single strip per code
Light Mortar Strip - Two Strips per code
Short Infantry Strip - one per code. Not sure if this is actually a proper part of the code, or just a malformed version of Infantry Strip type 2.

H&R WW2 British Infantry
Some quick pictures of the Heroics and Ros BR1 - British Infantry.
Five strips in the code, all identical.
Detailed pictures of the infantry strips, front:
and back:
I think that these could be used as infantry in bush hats as well, with some creative painting.

Heroics & Ros GR3 - German Paratroops
Now back to the promised pics of more World War 2 kit from Heroics & Ros to celebrate the release of "Blenneville or Bust" from TooFatLardies.
Without further ado, I give you GR3 - German Paratroops.
Paratroop Infantry. 3 strips in the code.
Radio Operator, Panzerschreck team, LG40 (?) team and a mortar team. 2 strips in the code.
Some sort of Anti-tank gun and crew. I suspect Pak 36 with Stielgranate? One of these per code.
MG Strip. One of these per code.
Without further ado, I give you GR3 - German Paratroops.
This is another one of those nifty codes that provides a whole heap of supports to the platoon of figures. To be honest I like having all the various bits and pieces, but at the same time it can be frustrating if there's not enough of one thing in the pack, or too much of something else.
Let me say upfront here that I know nothing about Fallschirmjager organisation, so for me this is a nice pack that provides a platoon of infantry, plus MGs, mortars, an antitank gun and other bits and pieces.
There are four different types of strip in the code:

Blenneville or Bust
TwoFatLardies just released the latest Robert Avery masterwork, a fictitious campaign for Normandy in 1944. Get it here in PDF for £9.50
It's going onto my ereader tonight!
In honour of this (and because I'm still waiting on my steel paper!) the next few posts will be some more Heroics & Ros WW2 stuff that I haven't detailed yet.

6mm Argentine Vehicles
I picked up a number of helicopters (and a Pucara) as part of the recent order from Heroics and Ros, but these really need to be assembled to be appreciated, so I'l be putting up some pics of those when I get that done.
Also for the Argentines I picked up a few vehicles. Because of the soft peat that constitues about 80% of the islands, most vehicles had to stick to the few roads, or risk getting heavily bogged down.
First up FM06 - AML H 90. (click the pics for a larger image)
This is a nice model. The body and turret are separate pieces. The Argentines had a number of these landed at Stanley, but they apparently never left the town. I'm still going to pick up a few for some what-if scenarios, and they are useful for a range of post-WW2 conflicts.
Next we have USM13 - LVTP-7 and US38 - Jeep.
These are nice, single part casts. The one issue with the single cast approach is that there is a large piece of flash/sprue beneath the gun on the LVTP to enable it to be cast. I'm uncertain whether to paint it out, or attempt to cut. Further investigation required...
The LVTP's obviously were involved in the original landing, so I'll be using them to game those, and maybe some what-if scenarios as well.

6mm Argentine Heavy Weapons
Today its the Heroics and Ros USR2 - WW2 US Heavy Weapons code. I picked up a bag of these looking for heavy weapons for my Argentine forces, with the same reasoning that lead me to select USR1 - WW2 US Infantry as a possible option for infantry forces. Don't forget to click the pictures for larger versions.
First up, the command strip. It seems that most of the H&R WW2 "weapons" codes includes the ubiquitous command strip. These consist of two three-man command teams as below, inclusive of radio operators. Certainly workable for my purposes, but there is a little flash around the second operator from the left.
Next, the Mortar/Bazooka Strip.
This is the real reason I picked selected USR2 - WW2 US Heavy Weapons: Bazookas!
Quite a useful strip:
- One figure with flamethrower (not useful for this conflict, but he can be put away for other duties)
- Two-man Bazooka team (note that there is some sprue connecting the rear of the bazooka to the Assistant for casting purposes that needs to be trimmed - it's not some massive oversized bazooka!)
- Three-man Heavy Mortar team
- Two-man Light Mortar team
This strip is less useful. Many of the MGs are obviously older WW2-era models which are unsuitable for the Argentine inventory of MAG MGs and US 0.50cal's. The MG in the middle is an obvious water-cooled model. Maybe with some judicious filing? The final AA MG is useful "straight out of the box", as is the engineer/mine sweeper.
And there you have it.
The crucial item I am missing is 105mm Recoiless Rifles....more on those another day.
Tomorrow : some Argentine vehicles...
